“If you need a simple yet feature-packed graphic design software and don’t want to dabble with the expensive or professional-grade versions like photoshop or illustrator then the Canva free trial is right for you.
We use it ourselves to produce our graphics for social media across our multiple accounts and our eCommerce businesses which work really well.
Picking and images from their huge library, rotating it a slight touch, adding some text over the top and some premium small images overlayed to finish it off looks great, we noticed higher ROI from Canva than the time used on photoshop and the learning curve there.”

Pros
Fantastic Templates
Ability to store brand colours and use them across all advertising
Huge built-in library of icons, shapes and effects
You can resize anything very quickly to suit different advertising channels
Cons
As Canva is so widely used you'll find repetition of designs, not the exact same design, but same layout.
Canva vs Stencil
Design and visuals are everything for online communication, especially in social media posts, blog articles, presentations and emails. Stencil’s designers can help make your posts stand out from the competition while saving you time.
Stencil also has extensions to make it easy to use in popular browsers such as Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. Additionally, if you sign up for a Buffer account, you can set up times in advance to share any Stencil posts you create
Pricing
Stencil comes with a free plan that lets you use ten images per month. Keep up to 10 of your favourite designs with this option. Canva also offers a free plan with unlimited access to both icons and photos to choose from.
Canva vs PicMonkey
PicMonkey is another popular design tool. Like many other design tools, it offers template customization, photo editing, and document design. With over 3,000 graphics, 200 fonts, and 100 textures, PicMonkey is another popular tool to bring your creative vision to life.
While PicMonkey is great for editing photos, Canva has more flexible design options. With plenty of pre-built designs and templates to choose from, it’s easy to get started with Canva.
Pricing
PicMonkey offers a free trial as well. But unlike Canva, their trial is only for 7-days. PicMonkey also doesn’t have a free version of their app. Their first-level plan starts at Basic for $7.99 a month, or $71.88 per year.
The Basic plan covers 1 GB of hub storage, export files, and access to primo effects, touch-up tools, and templates. However, if you’re looking for team collaboration, you may need to bypass the Basic and Pro plans and jump to the Team plan.
At $10.99 per month, per seat, this is the plan you need for PicMonkey access for your entire team. But there is a 3-seat minimum to sign up for the plan. And while you do receive a 17% discount for all the Pro features, you still don’t have team functionalities integrated into the app.
Canva vs Pablo by Buffer
Pablo by Buffer is a free design tool and photo editor. It works well with social media. You can use it to adjust colours and tweak the looks of photos or enjoy its integration with Buffer for a quick & easy way to create your posts on the fly and schedule them in advance. It’s pretty handy since you don’t need any additional apps for this purpose.
However, if you do not have a Buffer account and are not planning on getting one, this app may seem limited in terms of features for you. You can still perform some basic tasks such as customising templates, images or fonts. And you can download your creations. Despite being a powerful tool on its own, its real strength is in how it integrates with Buffer.
Canva vs Piktochart
Piktochart is an app that specializes in creating and customizing infographics. It lets you design presentations, flyers, and reports with the right visual impact by dragging and dropping elements from a user-friendly interface.
Pricing
Pricing starts at $12.50 a month (or $150 per year) for the Lite Plan. This lite package includes templates and 100MB of image uploads. If you need more content, you can upgrade to either of the other plans, which varies in price from $12.50-35 a month or $150-510 annually, with access to a range.
Activate your Pro package for $24.17/month or $290/year, and you’ll get a ton of benefits. Your upgrade will let you do so much more for your business, so it’s worth considering!
Like Canva, you have team collaboration features and project sharing options. However, Piktochart is much more expensive, and they haven’t finalized all the features yet.
Canva vs Snappa

Canva vs Photoshop
While Photoshop may be the most popular editing software, many people will still struggle because of its steep learning curve for beginners. But Canva is much easier to use, has affordable and transparent pricing models and takes less time to learn.
For beginners who are trying to build up a design portfolio but have no real experience, Canva can jump in without needing any design skills and make a great looking postcard, flyer or poster.
With pre-made templates for jumpstarting your designs, Canva is the fastest and easiest way for those with limited experience to make a high-quality product. There’s also the fact that not being under the pressure of a Photoshop blank canvas is a lot less intimidating.
Pricing
Photoshop CC pricing starts at $20.99 per month with an annual subscription, or you can get a license purchase for a one-time payment. You’ll have access to a lot of cool features like Adobe Spark & Adobe Portfolio if you subscribe, but also bitmap images and vector graphics editing capabilities along with 100GB of cloud storage. Photoshop has a team collaboration feature that allows for syncing and sharing, but the more collaborators who use the program, the more expensive it will become.
Canva vs Illustrator
Illustrator is an excellent tool for people looking to pursue a career in the graphic design industry. For those who are less knowledgeable about it, however, the interface may seem daunting and complicated. That’s why Canva is an ideal solution. It’s incredibly user-friendly and intuitive, which is perfect for someone without much technical knowledge!
At first glance, Adobe Illustrator can seem like the better choice. However, it forces you to design your templates from scratch, which may be more effort than some want to devote. The advantage, of course, is that Adobe Illustrator affords you more control over certain design elements like fonts and editing proportions. If you know something about the design, though, Canva offers prebuilt templates.
The designer may not find it a challenge, but someone without graphics design experience may find it challenging to create new flyers.
Pricing
Like Photoshop, you can purchase Adobe Illustrator as a single app for $20.99 per month. If you need a business license, it’s $33.99 per month with an annual subscription. Folks who want access to all of Adobe’s services might be better off investing in a package that bundles many products together.
However, you may need to take a few points and learn how to use the software. It’s not as easy as starting it up and going, so you might need to watch tutorials or take a quick online class for the program’s essentials.
Canva vs DesignBold
Designbold and Canva both offer a similar interface that allows you to do specific tasks on the fly. You can customize templates and edit an image or design in order to achieve the results you envision.
Pricing
Check out these two free design tools, “Canva” and “Designbold”. Canva’s app is free, and you can download HD stock photos, vectors, and other images for free on Designbold. (Mention that “Designbold requires coins”)
We do think that Canva is a much better overall package though.
The coin packages are available in bundles starting at $39.
Canva vs Visme
If you need animations in your presentations and infographics, Visme may be a good choice. We specialize in creating engaging, interactive media content just for you! For some of you, though, there’s no need to pay an extra fee for animations.
While Visme is undoubtedly a fantastic tool for designing everything from brochures and posters to detailed infographics, it may not be necessary for some instances. For example, if your design primarily centres around documents such as newsletters and reports, you wouldn’t need Visme’s features like inserting voiceovers or third-party images.
Canva offers a lot of high-quality templates for different designs. Visme’s interface may not be as simple to use; it can take time to understand all the design elements and make some design changes.
Pricing
The Basic plan of Visme is free to use, but you can only work on up to 100MB of projects at one time and may have limited access to templates. The Standard plan costs money to use all features, but the capacity limit rises to 1GB.
For many, Canva provides for more extensive storage space (1GB) and two options to organize your projects. Alternatively, Visme allows for 250 MB of storage at the upgraded level. However, Canva’s unlimited storage feature may be enough to convince most users to switch.
You will have to pay to unlock brand-specific features to use Visme Complete for $22 per month and have an annual subscription.
You don’t get the features of Canva for Work unless you upgrade to its more expensive Team plan, with three seats costing $66 per month, $336 annually.
If you’re a freelancer or small business who often design projects that use animations & interactive features, investing in these advanced tools will be worth it in the long run.

Why choose Canva?
We could tell you more reasons on why to choose the Canva free trial but reading reviews from actual users should make your decision a little easier, the following review is from;
getapp.com – Diana Gaffney, owner (internet, 1-10 employees)
“Canva makes it super easy for business to create graphic designs without being graphic artists. The template sizes are there for you, ready for any social media format for posts and for ads. That is an incredible time saver. No messing around with other imaging software to layout text on images, filters to create these. While more features are now under a pay wall, there is a considerable amount offered by Canva that you can use on your own and share with teams. That makes it easy to get updates/feedback on designs by adding people to your teams. Also, you can set a style guide which is available under the section Your Brand. Overall, Canva has put a lot of excellent effort into the tool.“
